VKICAS offers services to children in state care in Victoria as well as their birth or foster families.

Our services include:

  • Independent advocacy for the rights of the child - ¬†ensuring children have a say in their care and are treated fairly

  • Mediation between ¬†children, families, care providers and government agencies to resolve disputes and miscommunications

  • Independent auditing of Child Safe Standards and liaison with the Commission for Children and Young People to ensure standards are implemented

  • Connecting children in care and their families with support through referral to established mental health, drug and alcohol, counselling, legal, cultural and welfare services

  • Providing advice and guidance to children and families on navigating systems and frameworks in place to protect children from abuse, neglect and harm

Whilst focused primarily in Victoria, VKICAS will assist any children in need.
